In this research 93% of marketers expect to see marketing spend to increase, what isn't clear is how this compares with the year before.

More importantly what isn't clear is that with the massive change in buyer habits, GDPR changing entirely the way we market and sell; that anything has changed.  Or are we throwing more money at the wall and hoping it will stick?  Doing the same things and hoping that they work?

In Heidi Taylor's new book "B2B Marketing Strategy: Differentiate, Develop and Deliver Lasting Customer Engagement" she explains the difference between a strategy and a tactic.  She also makes the observation, something that I've seen, which is a "plan" is in fact all of the same tactics served up each year. Well it worked last year!  (The book is well worth a read if you market in a social world).
