How CEOs Can Effectively Navigate Through Change

Digital Transformation can so easily go wrong, and being in the digital transformation game we only know too well.

The problem is that very few people / companies / consultancies have done this before.

My business partner Adam used to have conversations with consultancies about digital transformation and would be told.  "Not to worry", "it's what we do", "we have the brightest graduates", "we were so and so award company of the year" I could go on.  Dodging the question.

So Adam would ask the question.

OK, if you started on Monday, what would you do?

At that point they would usually say, they hadn't got a clue and would flood the account with the "best brains" and hope for the best or try and turn it around and ask Adam what he would do.

Digital transformation is hard, very few people know where to start.

Ford CEO Alan Mulally once described leadership as, “having a compelling vision, a comprehensive plan, relentless implementation and talented people working together.” When Mulally was enlisted to turnaround the struggling motor company, one of his key initiatives was to develop and communicate a clear vision.
