Great post today by Gavin McMahon on Linkedin, the post is here.

Let's unpack that.

"💡 Cisco, the communications tech giant, is training its over 84,000 employees to serve as **talent influencers** for the company, with the thought that every person can be a recruiter of top talent for the organization."

This is how you can use, strategic social media, (and therefore digital) let's not forget, everybody knows how to use social media, so you don't need to train them to use the applications.  What your employees don't know is how to be talent ambassadors.  You do this by empowering the employees to use social media in an authentic way so other users of social media, your future employees, see their posts and go "hey that looks like a cool company, I want to work there"

Where as, I bet your target future employees currently think "why is that company pushing boring brochures and borchureware, I bet it a really boring company to work for."

The difference between digital relevance and digital irrelevant.

And the business benefits.

"The results:  according to Cisco's CPO Kelly Jones, "we have reduced time-to-fill for positions by about five days. Our data also shows that when our leaders are involved in recruiting like this, it increases employee retention rates. Everyone worries about attrition and attracting and retaining that top 20% of tech talent. We find that employees stay longer when they come in through our leaders."

We have also found in other DLA Ignite clients that in many cases, business are able to strip out the cost recruitment and by making the process more efficient by using strategic social media.  One of our clients no longer uses recruitment ads or recruitment consultants.  Just think of the cost and efficiency saving!

There are, also like Cisco, retaining their employees for longer.

Great business benefits of using strategic social media.
