In this article, TechRadar pick up on Adobe research that states that employees are losing hundreds of hours to old school ways of working?
As you can imagine the article is really a sales pitch for Adobe, discussing how businesses shouldn't be using paper and I understand that.
Let's look at digital and social media for a second.
We all live between two worlds, the physical world, we are walking the dog or feeding the cat and a digital world. We log into Linkedin for example and now we are in the digital world. Social media being a conduit into digital.
The mistake that people have made, or is it a dream told by tech suppliers is that digital is a new cloud based accounting system and that isn't digital.
Adobe are right, through they don't say this direct, digital is about empowering your people and the processes to be digital. Of course applications help, but the business benefit that a company will get from being digital is from it's people being digital.
Here at DLA Ignite, we are known as the world leading social selling agency, that is about moving your salespeople from the physical world, to where your prospects are, in the digital world, on social media.
The same can be said for human resources. The modern job hunter is on social media, so why isn't your HR team? Research shows that 96% of modern job hunters are on social media. Research here. By empowering your team to talk about your inclusion policy, your diversity policy, your STEM policy, you amazing culture, will get people to stop and say "that's the place I want to work". This is how you become the employer of choice today.
We have clients that are changing their HR departments by stripping out cost and by making HR more efficient and effective. How? Just think about stripping out the cost of recruiters and stripping out the cost of job ads. This is just two examples of how your business can be more efficient, more efficient and win the war on talent.
By being digital.
