In his weekly Saturday video, Lenwood Ross, CEO at Accelery, asked a question about trust, you can see the post here.
He discusses the fact that many businesses today will have a value statement that does not align with the actions.
His video goes onto say "a great example is a company that says it values diversity, but the entire management team is exactly alike".
Lenwood says that for "companies and individuals aligning our words and actions is critical today as everything we do is transparent through social media."
In the past, companies could say what they wanted, and nobody would be able to check to see if it was fact to fiction. And if you disagree, would could you do? Write a letter that would just be ignored.
But today things are very different, everything is transparent
Anybody can come onto social media and check out your leadership team, look them up on Linkedin.
We can all check out to see if they are the diverse team you say they are.
Your future customers, your future employees and your future investors can all do this.
So as a business,
- Does your position on social media reflect your culture?
- Does your position on social media reflect your values?
- Are you talking about your values and your culture in an authentic way on social media?
- Have you empowered your employees to talk in an authentic way on social media?
Why? because this will get you leads and revenue, this will make you the employer of choice in your market and sectors, it will also strip out cost and make you more efficient.
