It's a long held tradition that business leaders should lead from the front. I do it and I'm sure you do it! - We set examples of what is "good behaviour". I also try to empower and enhance my staff so they are able to leave, but while providing a culture that they want to stay. It's a difficult line to tread but hopefully I get it right.
Now here's a thing.
Your customers are on social media. ALL the data shows it, so why the hell are you not?
CEOs not on social media shows, you are not in control, you don't understand the current environment we live in, you are not forward thinking and you don't understand your employees because they are too!
Food for thought!
Senior level professionals’, particularly c-suite’s presence on social media is lacking. Only 39% of Fortune 500 CEOs have some kind of social media presence, of which, only 60% have ever tweeted, with many having tweeted less than 25 times in total. Of the F500 CEOs, not one has a presence on all 6 major social media platforms. On a more general basis, 61% of CEOs have no social media presence whatsoever.
