In a recent article by Jeremiah Owyang he talks about the rise of the autonomous organisation, article here
If you think about it, why not? We have autonomous cars and autonomous warehouses, dark factories, so why not the white collar part of running a company
These entities will not be founded or managed by people in the traditional sense
Instead, they will be:
Created by AI systems and intelligent agents
Offering services that customers willingly purchase
Generating revenue streams independently
Operating entirely without human oversight at the helm
The concept challenges our assumptions about business, leadership, and even the definition of an organization itself
While not everyone agrees with this vision, it is a future we must be prepared to consider
Conclusion:
If autonomous organizations become reality, leaders will need to rethink governance, ethics, regulation, and the very nature of value creation
The question is no longer if AI will change business, it’s how radically and how soon
Thanks to Jeremiah Owyang for his thought provoking article
