Didn't get much from the report as it's designed to "sell" APIs, but interesting that an IT company is talking about IT departments as being tactical.
What we see is that "digital transformation" is being used as a excuse for the IT department to change new systems but not really digitally transforming.
Sure maybe the systems are moved into the "cloud" but nothing is being done about new ways of working, the people and the process. Many of these companies are going to be for a shock, as they "think" they are digitally transforming, but actually it's just an excuse to keep the IT department in jobs.
We suspect a digital "hangover" is on it's way.
“IT teams are favouring tactical improvements rather than focusing on more transformative initiatives that deliver long-term business value,”
