Bhutan, officially the Kingdom of Bhutan, is a landlocked country in South Asia, situated in the Eastern Himalayas between China in the north and India in the south

For many years the country was closed, the people still wear national dress

And while western ideas and skills are taught

Child are taught from an early age computers and how to speak English

Archery is still the national sport

Archery in Bhutan is a way of socialisation, communication, and networking

Each village has its own archery team

The Bhutanese people generally love tourists

After all, we are spending money in their country

But when it came to archery, I was ignored 

It was far more important than that

Bill Shankly, who was the manager of Liverpool football club, famously said

“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that”

In Bhutan, the same could be said for archery
