When I saw the headline my first reaction was 'that's odd'. Especially when the article goes on to say that:
From now on, if you want to interact with Lush, you can do so in a slightly less modern way: via email, website live chat, or - horror of horrors - by phone.
Then the penny dropped, I checked out LinkedIn to see if I could find any prominent leadership team profiles - I gave up. Actually I did find some people but they weren't active and didn't have a network.
No wonder LUSH have thrown in the towel and I can't see email and phone being the way of the 'future'!
Despite being one of the more vocal beauty brands on Instagram, Lush has announced that, within the next week, it will be scaling back its social media use to almost nothing. "We're switching up social. Increasingly, social media is making it harder and harder for us to talk to each other directly," a statement to the brand's 569k Instagram followers read. "We are tired of fighting with algorithms, and we do not want to pay to appear in your newsfeed. So we’ve decided it’s time to bid farewell to some of our social channels and open up the conversation between you and us instead."
