"Give, don't take"

Too many salespeople will hit you with a pitch straight away - they want to sell you something. Most of the time it's not what you actually need.

If we give, give, give and then ask - you will be in a much stronger position. Plus if you are on the receiving end of lots of contact requests on LinkedIn - see if the sender is just wanting to take your money. It's not hard to spot.
